L'art contemporain raconté aux enfants - la Sucrière
L'art contemporain raconté aux enfants - Les Lièvres de Joseph à la Sucrière

A journey into the world of contemporary art specially designed for children

From September 28th to December 31st, 2012, at La Sucrière.
An exhibition to help children and adults discover and enjoy contemporary art!

Children are particularly receptive as unlike adults they have no preconceived ideas. La Sucrière takes advantage of this to bring them a very novel approach to contemporary art with an exhibition aimed at arousing their curiosity and perhaps even inspiring them to take up art themselves one day!

The Italian artist Gianni Colosimo revisits some of the most emblematic works of the 20th century to help children discover them in a new, unusual and fun way.

The featured artists include Marcel Duchamp, Yves Klein, Georg Baselitz, Gino De Dominicis, Marcel Broodthaers, Daniel Buren, Piero Manzoni, Joseph Beuys, Maurizio Cattelan, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Jan Fabre, Giulio Paolini, Arman, Sol LeWitt… and a number of other great names, who see their work being combined in, and adapted to the world of childhood, unleashing the imagination… not to mention more than a few laughs!

Whether through photographs, paintings, sculptures or installations, all possible means are used to intrigue, attract and entertain. This exhibition offers both a voyage of discovery and a chance to gain a grounding in the history of art from the second half of the 20th century and the early 21st century.

An original and humorous exhibition, where you'll learn plenty without even realising it!

Admission to the exhibition is free with the Lyon City Card
