ONL + choeurs à l'Auditorium

Carmina Burana

The 14, 15 and 16 March 2014 at the Auditorium: a flamboyant work.

A legendary score by Carl Orff, written based on 24 poems taken from the  Carmina Burana , a collection of mediaeval manuscripts found in a monastery…

The atmosphere is mediaeval as imagined by a 19th century composer, in other words completely enchanting, both stirring, mysterious, and mystical, combining violence, pleasure and joy, yet with an indefinable sadness and a rather morbid feel. Fortune, the seasons, love, fleeting happiness, and life and death are all ingredients here.

It's certainly no coincidence that the film Excalibur chose "O Fortuna" to illustrate the now legendary battle scene.

The great choir, orchestra, and soloists really do justice to this absolutely magnificent music.

All of the mediaeval magic is there. We’re hooked!

A great moment of pure excitement and emotion which everyone should experience at least once in their life.
