- Lyon & Dragons - Exhibition
Lyon & Dragons - Exhibition
Until March 17th 2013, at the Musée des Tissus de Lyon(Lyon Fabric Museum).
A chance to visit an unusual exhibition following on nicely from the Label Soie Festival.
Lyon meets the Dragon
The desiccator: what a frightful word!
but one which underlines the fact that in the 19th century Lyon was already synonymous with technological innovation and remains so today.
The exhibition gives you an opportunity to discover the key players of this prestigious textile creation
Lyon's well-known graphic designer Antoine Vollon and his enamel plate illustrations.
The Lyon company Talabot-Persoz-Rogeat, which invented this revolutionary desiccation process.
The Condition des Soiesis also honoured for the active part it played in promoting Lyon's silk industry in the face of competition from China (yes, already!) and the continuing fascination it generates.
What's more, this is also an attractive exhibition and one well worth visiting from an aesthetic viewpoint!
