Describe the shopping scene in Lyon?

The shopping scene in Lyon is full of life; there are shops for everyone, from the younger generation to teenagers and adults alike. The shops are always full; people are either browsing; buying or having lunch in the large centres and narrow streets. The overall atmosphere is positive, the sound of people talking and the music playing from the shops is electric.

What are the main shopping districts in Lyon?

There are three main shopping districts in Lyon; each has a different feel and style. I generally do not find everything I am looking for in the same place. I find the three main centres compliment each other. Part-Dieu is one of the biggest shopping centres in Europe; I find I can usually find all I want there, but if not there is also Place de la République, Croix-Rousse or Vieux Lyon. The shopping areas attract tourists and locals alike.

What attracts you to shopping in Lyon?

I am attracted to shopping in Lyon due to the proximity between the shopping districts; you can walk casually from one district to another. It enables you to browse around the shops stumbling upon other products, you did not intend on buying. Each shop allures you in due to the decorative interior or delights that are sitting in the window display. If it rains, you can always take the metro or bus transfers.
