Although their life expectancy was certainly far less than ours is today, the fact nevertheless remains that Greek influence and the basics of hygiene, ophthalmology and surgery were already firmly established, all supported by generous doses of divine intervention!
Male and female doctors, medical and surgical instruments, diseases and remedies, and of course beliefs and magic are all features of this wide-ranging new exhibition on the theme of medicine back in Roman times. You're invited to discover some 400 items from collections loaned by museums from all over Europe.
