Symbolically located in the former military medical school occupied by the Gestapo between 1943 and 1944, the Centre for Resistance and Deportation is one of Lyon's most unmissable sites. Visitors, equipped with an audio-guide, are invited to enter into a universe of sound and vision and be guided through a dark period of history. They will rediscover the resistance, deportation, the genocide of Jewish people and the most important events under the Occupation. The many temporary exhibitions cover present-day issues such as the genocide in Cambodia, and give visitors the keys to a better understanding of the world in which they live.
