5mn from Lyon centre by metro, the Musée Lumière holds the extraordinary inventions ot the Lumière Brothers that can be sampled through projections and interactive displays on the 4 floors of the Château Lumière, villa of Antoine, the father. The very birthplace of Cinematography has been renovated to receive all generations with stunning exhibits: projections of Lumière films with commentary, the first cameras, the first colour and 3D photographs, unusual inventions and objects. In front of the Museum is the Hangar du Premier-Film, first backdrop in the history of cinematography. Visible in "La sortie des usines Lumière", Louis Lumière's first film. A treasure of cinema history, named Historical Monument, today it houses a large cinema. Visit available in english, german, spanish and italian.
