Cité des Antiquaires, Quartier Auguste Comte, Puces du Canal (Flea market), Marchés des Bouquinistes (second hand books market) & Brocantes (second hand goods markets)... are all open throughout the year so be sure to visit them!

La Cité des Antiquaires

 

Located in a modern building, la Cité des Antiquaires sells everything from 17th –19th century furniture to decorative art pieces (1925-1950), not to mention jewellery, dishes, artwork, etc.

Le Quartier Auguste Comte

 

Le Quartier Auguste Comte is the regroupement of stores and boutiques located along rue Auguste Comte and rue de la Charité.

Every year these businesses organise two evening events, Tapis Rouge (in Winter) and Tapis Vert (in Spring), during these events the shops are open throughout the evening, and the street is lined with a red or green carpet.

The Marché aux Puces de Villeurbanne (flea market),

 

There, shoppers and traders start negotiating deals from 6am!

Equipped with torches and pocket lights, shoppers begin rummaging through items in order to find that ultimate rare pearl that is guaranteed to complete their collection.

Ideas are exchanged, items go from hand to hand, techniques and tips are learnt and taught and imaginations run wild!
