Discover 2000 year history of the textile industry
The collections of the Textile Museum have been housed in an 18th Century town-house, the residence of the former Governor of Lyon district.
They were gradually built up to form a remarkable conservatory of the history of fabrics from all periods and all origins, a witness to history itself and to the progress of eastern and western civilizations.
Pride of lace is given to the Lyon silk industry, between the 17th and 20th Centuries.
Duration: 2h
Museum closed on Monday and bank holidays. Entrance fee, also valid for the decorative arts museum (free admission for children). Authorisation required.
Visit proposed to groups or 'à la carte' in English, German, Italian, Japanese and French. |
