Presentation

Lyon, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a city with two rivers flowing through it, a merging city, a city of light, and most importantly a city with an original way of life; the richness of its heritage, the splendor of its cultural life, and its position at the heart of one of the most attractive regions in France, make it one of the major European tourist destinations.

Non-profit-making organization (type law 1901), the Lyon Convention and Visitors Bureau, certified by AFNOR since 1998, is the marketing and commercial establishment charged with the mission of optimizing Lyon and the surrounding region's assets and promoting them in France and abroad.

Serving the local community and tourism professionals, it is a key player in the economic development of tourism in Lyon.

Its first goal is to make Lyon one of the major European destinations, in the image of Prague, Vienne, or Barcelona.

This goal consists of two objectives :

  • To increase business tourism activity in welcoming conventions, exhibitions, colloquiums, and other professional events.
  • To develop leisure travel in Lyon by proposing attractive offers to its clients in France and abroad.
In developing the flow of tourism in Lyon and the surrounding region, the Lyon Convention and Visitors Bureau hopes to make the city's richness known world-wide, to everyone who travels for business or pleasure, to discover and stay in Lyon.
